Ranking: by current prominence — international exhibition history, museum representation, biennale selection, and critical standing — not by sales price or age. Scope: Irish-born artists anywhere, and any artist with a recent or current show in Ireland.

About this list. All 100 profiles are in. Entries include Irish-born artists working anywhere, and artists of other origins with substantial exhibiting careers in Ireland. A handful of strong candidates — Garrett Phelan, Sarah Pierce, Yuri Pattison, Anthony Haughey, Deirdre O'Mahony, Niamh O'Malley and Fergus Martin — were left out for now because a confirmed birth year couldn't be found; they're first in line if that turns up. Images aren't embedded here — each entry links out to the artist's gallery, museum or archive page, where you can see their work at proper resolution and with correct rights attribution. Exhibition dates were accurate as of late September 2026 and may since have closed.
